Spring Inspired Birthday Card!

June 20, 2012

Here is my card for you all today! I know it's a little out of season, but I figured it's kind of summery also! I would like to enter it into the CardPatterns: Sketch 170 Challenge and Cas-ual Friday's Challenge: Clear As Day. I encourage you all to go check them out and you could possibly win some fabulous prizes....Now on to the card!

It is an A2 sized card with a base of kraft cardstock which I am addicted to! The pink striped paper is 4" by 5 1/4". The next layer is the strip of kraft cardstock lying vertically and it measures 2 3/8" by 4". I used my recollections border punch that I got at Michaels last summer. Now if you look reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally closely (such as in the next shot) you will see...

My use of vellum. However this vellum is not like most vellum, this vellum was from a 12x12" Christmas Sheet purchased from the dollar store for not even a dollar but ten cents. Yep that's correct, ten cents. Plus it's got polka dots! Anywho, I used my 1 1/2" scalloped circle punch by EK Success. The vellum also comes into play on the corners of the right side of the card which you can see in other photos.

Then the floral paper is actually from the same sheet of pink paper but just the other side and it measures 1 1/4" by 4". Then on top of that, yet another layer!

The piece of kraft cardstock is one inch thick and I have absolutely no idea how long. On top of it is the sentiment which was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and the stamp itself is from Studio G. To follow the sketch for the challenge above I needed a ribbon and picked this white zig zag trim.

Next up is my watercolored image also from the same stamp set and stamped in the same in, but this time upon watercolor paper. I again used my aqua pen to fill in the stamped image.

That's it for today! Don't forget to check out my GIVEAWAY HERE! Thanks for stopping on by and if you have any questions feel free to leave me a comment or shoot me an email!
