Card: Triple Threat

March 01, 2014

Today I have three birthday cards to share with you featuring a 6x6 pad of paper by Kathy Davis that I purchased at Joann's called Journeys (the purple one, it also comes in blue/green hues!) This is a demonstration to use the same patterned papers differently and also would make a great set to give as a present to someone!

All of the cards seen in this post are being donated to a local assisted living facility in my area for the staff to give to the residents on their birthdays as part of my Gold Award Project.

The first card is a landscape A2 of light purple cardstock from Joann's.
I happen to find banners really cute and easy and anyone can do them!

To connect the banners I used my white Gellyroll pen from a while back and it still works like a charm! I added some little loops to add a little more pizzazz. The sentiment is a stamp from Studio G in Memento black ink.

With all these pastel colors I am soo ready for Spring! I love those rainy days and the sunshine!
For the second card I used the same paper, but made a portrait A2 and used a Fiskars border punch in a baby blue cardstock.

The sentiment is again from Studio G and the ink is the Memento black again. The baby pink flowers are from Prima (I think...)

This last card using the same papers and border punch...BUT I also used another patterned paper.

This purple patterned paper is again from Kathy Davis' collection Journey.
Some tips for using bold patterned papers is to keep it simple and give it room to breathe. A majority of my cards are clean and simple and involve a lot of white space which is why I love bigger prints.

I hope you enjoyed these really simple paper and glue cards!
