Party Idea: My Favorite Things

June 24, 2014

I love hosting events, especially over the summer with all my best friends. Although there's a few problems I find myself running into.

1. Parties can be very expensive
2. Parties can be very stressful
3. Themes can be hard to think of

Now you're probably still wondering about the title and where I am going with all of this.

"My Favorite Things" sounds probably to most of you like the song from The Sound of Music, but it's not, I promise. This party idea is a cheaper alternative to hosting your own party. In this scenario the invited guests, upon rsvping will have the duty to bring a certain quantity of their favorite thing under a certain price target.

Here's an example, if you invite 5 people, that's 6 total including yourself. Now you invite them to bring let's say the specific theme is "My Favorite Beauty Product Under $10". Each guest will then pick one item, running it by the hostess first (to avoid duplicates) then  but 6 of that item.
So, as you can see by the end of the party each person gets 6 different items! It's a cute and inexpensive little party idea for the summertime.

You could pair this get together with cute finger sandwiches and a tea party atmosphere for another take on it!

I'll be posting my results from this idea when my party comes around in August! Stay tuned & hope you give it a try!
