5 College Essentials You Won't Want To Forget!

July 16, 2014

Less than 40 days until my freshman year of college finally begins! (Can you tell I'm a teensy bit excited?). As the days are now dwindling my family and I have already started a huge list of what I need to buy, already have, and what definitely not to forget!

Today I wanted to give you a list of things that you probably either didn't think of or might have forgotten about!

1. Water Pitcher (with filter)

Depending on how mini your mini fridge might be, I highly recommend you get a pitcher to keep water cold, but also to keep it handy! If you continually fill it up and use it, this could also help you fight against the "freshman fifteen"! This is also a great thing to share with a roommate, really though, who doesn't drink water? If 10.99 is too far out of your price range, then get one without a filtration system or downgrade some more and get a personal water bottle with a filtration system built in.
I will be using the Brita Water Filtration Slim Pitcher - 10.99

2. Calendar

Whether it is a desk calendar or a smaller planner or even using the one on your phone it'll make your college life so much easier. There are clubs, sports, tests, assignments, finals, jobs, deadlines, and who knows what that you'll need to handle all on your own.

3. Silverware

Seems simple and obvious, but when you cook your bowl of ramen and have to eat it with your hands, you'll want at least some dollar store silverware.

4. Pencils

Don't go to your first day of classes without a writing utensil. What seems the most obvious is what you're more likely to forget.

5. Something from home

For some people moving out of the house is really hard. Plus, if you're moving far away you'll really love that little photo album you brought with you. College is a big step for many people and this item will really help you during some rough times.

I hope this helped some of the incoming college freshman like me!
