DIY Dorm Decor: Glittered Clothespins!

1:44:00 PM

We've all seen these absolutely adorable clothespins in store or on Pinterest that are dowsed in glitter. Why buy when you can DIY?

Today I'll show you how I made my own DIY Glittered Clothespins in a few simple steps!

First step is to get your supplies!

You'll need:

Clothespins (the hinged wooden kind)
Various Glitters (I do not recommend any chunky glitters)
Mod Podge (or some sort of homemade version)
Paint Brush (a dollar store one will work + you won't get this one back)
Paper Plates
Optional: Clear Sealant (I bought mine at Walmart for $4)

You'll take your paint brush and put Mod Podge on one side of the clothespin. The thicker you lay it on, the longer it will take to dry, but be sure to not miss any spots.

Next dump a smallish amount of your desired glitter color onto a paper plate. Take your gluey clothespin and gently tap it into the glitter. Make sure again you don't miss any spots! Tap of the excess back onto the plate.

Continue the process!
Now I don't have a picture, but I took all of my clothespins and put them on a baking sheet covered in wax paper and took them outside. There, I sprayed them with the clear sealant stuff. I'm not sure if it actually helped keep the glitter on it or not, but it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Then I let them dry overnight just to be safe. Then, you're all done! Here's my final product:

If you do try these please let me know how it goes, I love hearing about it!
