Sending Care Packages!

September 16, 2014

My friends and I decided that we didn't want to lose touch when we all went our separate ways for college. So we came up with the idea of "secret Santa" but college edition and year round. Basically it'll be Christmas every few weeks or so! Here's the breakdown and rules of how we did it and what I got in mine!

First off we put all four of our names in a hat (actually it was a bowl...I think) and each picked. Luckily on the first try everyone got a name that wasn't there's. Next we had to set a price limit. As a group we thought that $20 was sufficient for a nice little care package (and for clarification that does not include shipping).

Another thing we added into the mix was if  there was anything you specifically wanted or needed in your care package like gum you could send it in the group chat so your "Santa" could see it and get it for you!

In my care package to Tara I sent the following items:

(And yes this is from her Instagram, she was so excited!)

-A deck of playing cards
-Her birthday present (a little late, sorry!)
-A pack of flash cards
-Copious amounts of candy including:
  • Pumpkins (like candy corn but they're pumpkin shaped)
  • Mambo Chews (I think that's what they're called)
  • SweetTarts
  • Skittles
  • Lollipops
  • Sour Patch Kids
  • Reese's Peanut Butter Cups
  • & more things I can't remember!
-A card/letter
-Hair ties
-A pack of blue pens
-Sticky note tabs
-Granola bars
I think that's it, but the box was stuffed!

Then here's what I received from Maddie:

-An adorable cream lace high-low dress
-A cute headband
-A set of earrings

And that's it! It's like a little Christmas year round!
