Movie Review // Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials

September 22, 2015

It's that time folks, another movie review! As many of you know, the second installment of the Maze Runner series came out this past Friday and I went eagerly to go see it!

Now that I've seen it, let's get real. I expected something completely different than what this movie had to offer. I don't know about you, but I can personally say that this movie was scary. I'm not one for much of anything scary or horror for that matter, but I do appreciate a great thriller movie. So, maybe I'm just a big baby, but don't tell me you wouldn't be terrified if you were being chased by one of those things.

Another heads up if you haven't seen this movie yet, you'll be trying to catch your breath with how much running you'll witness, but hey, it's in the title. Besides the running, this movie did incorporate many emotions (besides fear that is) into the story line. I felt sad at times, anger at times, and even betrayed at one point (you know what I'm talking about if you've seen it).

Although the movie was nothing like I expected, I still enjoyed it overall (but could do without whatever you'd like to call those crazy things that they are running from, but then again it wouldn't be the same movie series if there wasn't running, nor would the plot maintain it's course.

I would rate this 3/5 stars in my book. To summarize, it was an interesting take on a post apocalyptic world where teens thought the fight was over, but yet it has just begun, plot development seemed a little on the slow side, but truly was action (horror) packed with a marathon worth of running.
