Glossy Accents & Stamping Technique // Truly Thankful11:00:00 AM
Hello friends! I hope this post finds you happy and healthy! This past weekend, I had a BLAST breaking into some brand new craft supplies (ahh)! So here are just two of the many projects I crafted this weekend (so be excited for more to come)!
Today's card features kraft and white cardstock, some stamps, a variety of inks, and some glossy accents! At the end of this post will be a list of specific supplies and where you can find them!
This card has a subtle ombre effect. You can easily do this with any color combo, but for this one I'm using a Fall color scheme. I used two shades of brown than a dark orange (Stampin' Up). The stamps that I used are mostly from Stampin' Up (acorn, leaves, and sentiment) as part of one of my Paper Pumpkin Kits. The little pumpkin I used is by Studio G (but I couldn't find a link for it).
This card also features two more fun techniques I'd like to point out! One is the double stamping technique, so the way this works is you ink your stamp up and then stamp it firmly as you normally would, but then you'll proceed to lightly stamp it again, being sure to offset it slightly. This will create almost a shadow of sorts for each image. It just adds a nice little touch!
Then the final technique I'm sharing is by using glossy accents. This was my first time using glossy accents ever and I'm hooked! I decided that this card needed pizzazz, so I took the glossy accents and created domes over all of my pumpkins. This gives the card texture and dimension. I also wanted to add glitter, but restrained myself (because I love glitter a little too much, if that's possible).
I just used some foam tape to boost the white layer up some and ta-da! This is a really fun card to make, especially if you love stamping like I do. Any time is a great time to make a card. Do you make cards for Thanksgiving? Let me know in the comments!
