End of Semester Push // How to get yourself out of the finals week slump!11:00:00 AM
Hello all! Today is a good day for a few reasons. One, I'm halfway through my finals week! Two, I'll be heading for home in two days! Three, Christmas is so close now! If you're enduring your finals week like I am, you know that the motivation is at an all time low. :( I'm here to share a few tips with you to help you finish out the semester strong!!
#1. Keep your eye on the prize
If all you can seem to think about is having a break from school or going home and making sugar cookies, you need to make that your motivation. The better you do on your exams, the more cookies you get to eat, right?!
#2. Turn off your phone
There's nothing that reads more procrastination like Facebook. There's nothing good on there anyways, so just mute your phone for a while and only check it on your five minute breaks. You'll find out that you're done studying in no time!
It sounds great to add a few extra hours of your part time job on during finals week, but you know you really need the time to study. Maybe pick up one extra hour, but don't over do yourself. Studies come first! Be sure to also take the time to figure out what you need to study for when, so you don't put yourself up a calculus creek without a paddle.
#4. Make a schedule for your day
This is a great idea to keep you organized and to make yourself some goals. Set goals for how many chapters you reread for the day or how many practice math questions you need to do in the hour. If you set these mini goals for yourself and write them down with a time limit, you'll be more likely to want to get them done! Don't forget to reward yourself after!
#5. Do what's best for you
I know that a lot of people like studying in groups, but personally I think I learn a whole lot less. So, be sure to understand how you study best and run with it. Whether it's rereading chapter, rewriting notes, practice questions, or group study, just do what works best for you.
I hope you guys enjoyed this final tips to complete your semester strong! I hope they helped too. Thanks for stopping by!
