Game Night Get Together // Snack ideas & more!

January 07, 2016

Everyone loves a great game night with friends or family. I'm here today to share with you how to make it a little easier on yourself as well as guide you with some game suggestions and snack ideas! First off just as a disclaimer, I am not a professional game enthusiast even though I wish I was one, so these are just simple guidelines that appeal to me and hopefully you as well.

Snack Ideas

Every great game night needs snacks! Sometimes people hold their game nights during dinner time and get pizza (which I highly enjoy), but if you don't want to pay to feed a crowd, here are a few different ideas to serve a lot of people!

#1. Popcorn

Popcorn is a really simple way to feed a lot of people. If you have an air popper it's even easier! You can make all sorts of variations of popcorn so whatever suits your crowd best is ideal. Maybe even look up some fun ideas on what to add to your popcorn or even make a cute little snack bar with different seasonings!

#2. Veggies & Dip

Often times when hosting parties people expect junk food of sorts. So, why not surprise everyone with some colorful vegetables cut up and put out some ranch dip? Be sure to also try and approximate the amount of food to buy so you avoid over spending!

#3. Chips and Salsa/Guacamole

This duo/trio is usually a party go to. Depending on the types of games you may be playing can also vary what type of snack you'll have. Be sure that whatever you may pick that your guests like it, that it doesn't violate any known food allergies, and that it's yummy!

Game Suggestions

With so many game choices out there how do you pick out just a few to play with friends or family?! I'm going to share with you a few of my favorite games that are really fun to play with large groups!

#1. Apples to Apples

This comparison game is really fun! Your friends and family will be laughing during this one! Whoever collects the most cards wins!

#2. Hearts

Hearts is a card game that is somewhat strategy and somewhat luck. I recommend you look up some directions on how to play this game, but be very careful that someone doesn't shoot the moon!

#3. Trivia

Most of the members of my family love trivia! When you form teams it can be even more fun! You could always use a specific trivia game like say Harry Potter or Disney (some of my favs).

#4. Charades

This classic party game doesn't require more than a bowl and some slips of paper. Come up with a fun category for your guests to play in and come up with some fun charade ideas! Teams are also a great idea for this party favorite.

My friends and I recently hosted a game night and we had lots of fun! I hope you enjoyed this post and be sure to comment your favorite game below! Thanks for stopping by!
