VIDEO: Valentine Watercolor Cards // Quick & Cute!

11:00:00 AM

Hello friends! I hope you're all having a great day. I've got a really fun project to share with you today that I'm giving my apartment-mates for Valentine's Day! Get your watercolors ready, because here we go! Don't forget to watch my video tutorial on the end for more details.

This super adorable 3"x 3" card was so fun to make and didn't take too much effort for this beautiful look. I started off this project by cutting my Canson watercolor paper to 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" then taped it down to a flat surface to prevent bubbling.

Next, I began to wet all the colors I wanted to use in my watercolor palate. Then, after thoroughly cleaning off my brush, I made a fun shaped pool of water on my watercolor paper. Now, you don't want to go too overboard with the water, but enough so the colors can move and blend together.

Once you've got your puddle formed, you can start adding your color. I did a diagonal dark to light gradient of pinks and reds for mine, but again, do whatever your little heart desires. In the video, you can see my process in more detail such as where I blot off certain parts and even add splatters. Once your painting is completely dry, we can stamp on our sentiment! I used some black Memento ink to stamp this adorable sentiment from Michael's.

To complete the look of these two beauties, I mounted them onto a 3" x 3" kraft cardstock base and added some sequins for a little bit of sparkle. If you want more details be sure to check out my video below! As always, there will be a list of product links below for your viewing pleasure. Thanks for stopping by!
