VIDEO: Pick 5! // Best Friends - 12x12 Layout Process Video

May 14, 2016

Hi there everyone! Today I am very, very, very excited because I have a brand new video series starting up! Yay! With summer coming up very quickly, I plan on uploading bunches of videos. Be on the lookout for a craft room tour, giveaways, and pick 5! Pick 5 is a spin off of Adele or InkieQuill's idea of Grab 5. The concept of this is you pick 5 things from your stash that you must use on your layout. It's a great idea if you have a lot of stash and you want to start using it up!

You can see the 5 products I picked in my video or you can see them when I type them out right now! ;) I picked some cork stickers from Oriental Trading (I love these things), a die-cut pack by K and Company and designed by Brenda Walton, a floral stencil  by Plaid, a pack of Thickers shapes, and last, but not least, some small sequins. I hope you enjoy this process video and I'll have some extra details down below!

I really love these die-cuts from K&Company. The pinks and gold foil throughout are beautiful. My gold Heidi Swapp Color Shine matches beautifully. If you are using a lot of die-cuts on your layout, try adding dimension to one or two so they stand out a bit more.

Another tip I have to share is that stencils can easily mess up! Especially this stencil. I would recommend using a thicker medium so it doesn't seep under the stencil as easily. Do you all like to use stencils?

These photos of this layout turned out beautifully! Those Heidi Shine droplets shine so nicely! In this photo you can see how much of my stencil seeped. I'm still happy with how it all turned out though.

That's the end of this layout! I hope you all enjoyed! If you have any questions about products or techniques let me know. Thanks for watching!
